She divorced at age 19, and went on to develop an addiction of her own. She ended up using for the next 14 years, which sadly resulted in the loss of custody of her son during his high school years. She has been clean for the last 3 years, is working the steps and involved with NA, and her son is now back in her life. Now a Master Barber, Kody has turned her attention to those in need with her non-profit, Fades for Faith.
